This week, Abi and I met up over the Easter break to review the progress of our project and reflect on the work completed so far. Through this review, we identified that we are in a strong position, having established a clear and focused concept to develop further. We also created a mood board to shape the visual direction of our idea, helping us align on the tone, aesthetic, and overall feel of the project.
Both of us decided to begin by creating a mood board that captures our progress so far, bringing together key elements such as our brand design direction, target users, and the core aims of our prison release service. Breaking these areas down visually allowed us to reflect on our work in a more structured way. Completing this helped us gain a clearer understanding of what we have achieved so far, while also identifying areas to refine and develop moving forward.

With this completed, Abi and I feel we are in a strong position as a group and can begin planning the next stage of development. This includes refining our brand through clear guidelines, exploring advertising approaches, and considering how the service translates into physical spaces and experiences, allowing us to build a more complete and cohesive outcome.
After completing the mood board, we had limited updates to share as only Abi and I were present. Instead, we used this time productively to plan by creating an agenda for the next stage of the project. This ensures we return aligned, prepared, and ready to progress. Our next steps include developing a service blueprint, creating user personas, and conducting another interview to further inform and refine our work.

With this agenda in place, we are now able to move forward with clear direction and begin consolidating our work towards a completed brand guide. This will allow us to shift focus onto how the service is implemented in practice, ensuring it effectively supports prisoners as they reintegrate with their families and transition back into society.

This week’s meetup, whilst short, allowed us to review our overall progress and reflect on how far the project has developed. At this stage, we are in a strong position, with a clear concept and direction that can now be refined toward a final outcome. We are beginning to shift focus to defining key features, how the service will function, and what our brand fully represents. While I would like to see more group-wide progression moving forward, I feel confident in the work completed so far, and next week will be an opportunity to bring everything together and begin finalising these elements.
